2.6 - Converting Lead Records

Once your nurturing process is completed and if the enquiries wish to go ahead with any of the services like volunteers, sponsors, donor, members, supplier etc then you can convert them into a Contact, Account and create a Deal/Opportunity. 

This is the general lead to deal conversion process in any CRM system. You can learn more on the conversion process for each enquiry type in the below Enquiry Journey documentation.

2.6.1 Steps involved in converting the Leads to Deals

  1. Click the Leads tab.

  2. In the Leads Home page, select the lead to be converted.

  3. In the Lead Details page, click Convert.


  1. In the Lead Conversion page, choose the appropriate account/contact option. The options to create an account/contact or add to the existing account/contact will be available based on different use cases. For e.g. If a sponsor contact is sponsoring for a second event, you will be able to find him as a contact inside the CRM already but since he filled the Sponsorship form in the website he will enter the Enquiry module. In this case, you can nurture him and click “Add to existing contact” and “Add to existing account” while converting such that only a  deal will be created.

  2. Select Create a New Deal for this Account/Contact checkbox if you want to create a deal on lead conversion. All the mandatory fields for the Deals module will be listed.

    1. Specify the Deal Name. By default, the Company Name will be populated as the deal name.

    2. Specify the Deal Closing Date or select the date from the calendar displayed.

    3. Select the Deal Stage from the drop-down list.

    4. Select the Contact Role from the drop-down list

    5. Enter the Amount.

    6. Choose the Campaign Source from the lookup. Note that only the campaigns associated with the lead will be listed. You can associate one campaign which qualified the lead. This details for this campaign source will be available in the deal. If there is no campaign source then you can leave it empty.

    7. Select the Owner of the record. This option will be available only if a new record is created.

  3. Click Convert. During this conversion all the values in the fields will flow through their respective modules including the related list.



2.6.2 Mass Convert and Mass Email



Zoho CRM Enquiry Module lets you to Mass convert or Mass email in the Enquiry Home page. You need to select more than one Enquiry record and click on the three dots as in the screenshot above. You will then be popped up with more options such as Send emails or mass convert etc. that you can use to do bulk emailing or converting, respectively. You can also see a button called “Create Task” where you can create tasks for multiple records at a time.
